Homewood Flossmoor Swim Club is a not-for-profit organization administered by a parent Board of Directors elected by its member families. Founded in 1981 with a small group of families, the team has grown to over 160 members.
Being
on a swim team is an opportunity to reach fulfillment and growth; mentally,
physically, and spiritually. HFSC was formed and has been molded to give
swimmers of varying abilities and on all levels this opportunity. Because most
young people have varying levels of commitment to the sport, our team encourages
any swimmer who enjoys the sport, at whatever level, to participate in our
program. Competitive swimming is a whole process of responsibility, learning,
persistence and perseverance, reaching maturity, and more importantly,
establishing lifelong habits in and out of the water. Good sportsmanship,
discipline and developing potential are important aspects of this process.
Parental
involvement and support are essential ingredients in the HFSC program. There are
young people in our area who possess all of the qualities needed to mold a
successful swimmer. HFSC swimmers are successful for many reasons, but heading
the list are the parents. Swimmers’ parents are a group who are goal-oriented
and committed to their children. Without their continuing time and energies,
team swimming becomes an unreachable goal.
Simply put, HFSC has a basic philosophy of encouraging all swimmers to participate, develop, achieve and accomplish their individual goals while learning how these individual accomplishments affect the team effort. HFSC has a place for all swimmers - beginners to National Champions! We want you to find your place with us.
